New Music Friday: Alex Mills

We're back with another #NewMusicFriday! We linked up with the London based DJ & singer-songwriter, Alex Mills, from Leeds. She's ready to wow us with her new single "Worst Enemy" - a tune to relate to and one to dance to!

We caught up at the Stööki studio in London to learn more about Alex Mills, including her inspirations and future projects... 👀

1. Who is Alex Mills?

Alex Mills is a singer, songwriter & DJ from Leeds but based in London. Shes also a dab hand at playing the triangle but that's for another interview.

2. Tell us about your latest single ‘Worst Enemy’?

Lyrically Worst Enemy is a song about falling victim to your own brain. Its about battling and overcoming your inner saboteur. Musically its a straight dance floor banger.

3. What are your main sources of inspiration?

I get inspired by all sorts. My personal experiences, other peoples experiences - so be careful telling me your secrets because I might just put them in a song. I get inspired by books, films, other writers. There is a world inspiration out there.

4. Describe your fashion style?

My fashion style is usually very colourful, full of print and clashing colour. I also like being a bit sexy sometimes but for the most part I am in trainers, bomber jackets and big earrings.

5. Tell us what's next for Alex Mills?

Im about to drop my EP next month which i'm super excited about! It's called 'Raw To The Floor' and is fully if house bangers. Its a real reflection of my personality and taste when it comes to dance music so im super excited to share it. Dropping on November 26th.

6.Where can we find more of your music? Upcoming gig dates?

Im playing this Friday at Leeds O2 academy to a sold out show alongside Sonny Fodera and Biscits. I'll also be playing at Studio 338 on November 28th with Weiss, Martin Ikin, George Mensah etc and I cant wait. You can find my music in all the usual streaming corners. Which ever one takes your fancy, youll find me there.
