Youth Marketing Strategy Conference  London 2023 - FLAARE x Stööki Panel Talk

Stööki were recently invited to Youth Marketing Strategies London 2023! The world’s largest youth marketing conference. The Youth Marketing Strategy festival offers the latest insights, freshest ideas and invaluable networking opportunities ready to drive your Gen Z marketing strategy forward.

We were part of a panel discussion with FLAARE at ‘The Future of Work Track’ stage. With the amazing FLAARE founders Izzie and Annie we discussed our brand partnership with FLAARE and how the two projects we collaborated on together supported and facilitated the young people we worked with on their creative journey. The Q&A gave us the opportunity to talk about our experiences teaming up on the project and how our content creation engaged with Gen Z.

As well as exciting curated projects like the one with FLAARE, Stööki offer Work Experience, Traineeships & Apprenticeships and our a few team members currently on them attended the conference and really enjoyed the experience. Check out their point of view of the conference, and hear what Gen Z thought about the only event for senior marketers wanting to understand Gen Z.

Truthfully speaking, going into the conference, I didn't know what to expect. In spite of that, after hearing about people who work in the field of marketing, I found myself intrigued to learn more about their world and what goes into companies that have accomplished so much. My favourite talk had to be the one by Josephine Hansom - Reasons To Be Optimistic - 10 Reasons Gen Z Will Not Only Survive, But Thrive! As someone who has an increasing interest in tech, learning about AI is always an exciting topic. With the increasing usage of AI and how it improves everyday, it was great to hear the positives about the improvements in tech, spearheaded by Gen Z in particular, especially because we are so used to hearing about the bleakness of it all. Hearing about how 85 per cent of the jobs that will exist in 2030 are not even around made me feel hopeful about the future and what Gen Z will be able to accomplish. I found many of the talks very insightful and as someone who does have a focus in marketing within Stooki, I felt as though I was able to gain more knowledge and take on this information to hopefully apply in my Business Administrator role.

Giovanna (Stööki Work Experience) thoughts...

The Youth Marketing Strategy 2023 event was an incredible experience for me. I had the opportunity to learn more about brands, trends, and the Gen Z's, and to listen to the experience, opinions, and pieces of advice of industry experts, leaders, and disruptors. The event was not only informative but also fun, with activities, music, food, and drinks that made the environment even more enjoyable.

Out of all the experiences, "The power of Creators of Gen Z Marketing" caught my attention the most. Martin Anderson, head of digital marketing, and Kellisha White, global senior brand & cultural impact manager, shared their strong and well-structured opinions about creators, influencers, trends, and how to connect with the public – The Gen Z’s! It was fascinating to hear their insights and learn from their experiences.

Another highlight of the event was watching the artist Sophie Chan work live throughout the festival. She created a beautiful design on the wall about having the chance to speak and ask for change. What made it even better was that she allowed other people to participate in her work by writing things that we would like to see changed. It was a lovely experience to be a part of her work and contribute to the message.

Overall, YMS was an excellent experience that allowed me to meet new people and learn more about my generation. The future may be uncertain, but one thing is for sure – we are connected, and it's up to the Gen Z’s to make a difference. I am grateful for the opportunity to attend such an informative and enjoyable event and look forward to applying what I learned in my future endeavors.. -Giovanna
