New Music Friday: Raysmuzik
We're back with another #NewMusicFriday! This week we linked up with British-Nigerian artist, Raysmuzik as he returns with his new single "Fenty".
We caught up at the Stööki studio in London and got to know more about Raysmuzik's future goals, his creative process for his latest single and his favourite all-time artists... 👀
1. Who are you?
My name is Raysmuzik, and I am a singer/songwriter from Lagos Nigeria. I have been singing and making music since I was a teenager, but I started taking it seriously or as a career from 2016/2017.
2. Tell us more about the last single? Your creative process, inspiration and any fan facts…
Fenty is a song that was inspired by a Facetime conversation I had with a close female friend. I remember her wearing her make up as we spoke and she mentioned her Fenty concealer by Rihanna.
Luckily for me I went to Sarche’s house on the same day, and he was playing me some instrumentals, and soon as he played me this instrumental he made with DB, all I could see or think of was this aforementioned phone conversation. I recorded a freestyle of how and what I was feeling, everyone in the studio thought it was dope, then I sent it to my label manager, he told me to finish it off and the rest they say is history.
3. What’s you next project? What can we expect?
I am currently working on a mixtape, and once I complete that project, I will most likely take some days off to reflect, evaluate and then decide what I am doing next.
4. Tell us about your long & short term future goals & aspirations?
In the short term I plan to just keep working in the studio and release more music, and continue building and improving as an artist while in the long term I see my art being synonymous with numerous accolades, touring and signing and developing new talents.
5. Who would you like to collaborate with and why?
I’ll collab with anybody as long as they’re dope. I want to make sweet, timeless and wonderful music, so I am open to collaborating with any artist as long as we on the same wave. I also want to collaborate with some fashion brands as well…so fingers crossed.

7. What inspires you in your creative process?
I like to live in the moment, i am a fun guy… I like to be in the studio with my guys… probably because I like to make music with the things happening around me, I draw from my personal experiences and sometimes some fictional but relatable scenarios.
8. Give us some ransom facts, lol!?
Aside Music I love Gaming and football, I support Arsenal and If I wasn’t making music I most likely would have been a game designer or Football Boots designer.
